ASPB Members: Nominations Open for 2021 ASPB Awards

Nominations are now being accepted from ASPB members for the 2021 ASPB Awards. The deadline is February 19, 2021, so please submit your nominations as soon as possible.

It is important that ASPB honor the most notable achievements and contributions of plant scientists worldwide – a responsibility that we carry out in large part through our annual awards program. It is vital to our profession that we all recognize our colleagues’ efforts by taking time to nominate them for awards. In 2021, ASPB will be offering 11 different awards to accomplished plant biologists across all areas of the discipline and at all stages of their career. These awards will be presented during Plant Biology 2021. Nominations must be submitted electronically; procedures and the specific awards that will be made in 2021 are available online. Lists of prior years’ award recipients are also available; simply click on the award of interest and view the “Past Winners” tab.

All that is required to make a nomination for ASPB awards is a one- to two-page letter of nomination and the nominee’s CV. Awards committees may subsequently contact the nominator and ask for additional information if they feel it is necessary.

Nominators should check the guidelines for eligibility for their award nominee prior to assembling the package. Additional information can be found here: https://aspb.org/awards-funding/aspb-awards.

Please support the most notable contributions of your fellow plant biologists by making awards nominations. Don’t delay; submit your nominations today! Remember, the deadline is February 19, 2021.

If you have any questions, please email Sylvia Lee, executive and governance affairs administrator.
