Announcing the 2021 Travel Award/Attendance Award Winners

ASPB’s Travel Award Program aims to increase attendance of early career scientists at the annual meeting, ordinarily by providing travel funds for those in financial need. Increasing diversity among the annual meeting attendees is another primary goal. Undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and professionals beginning their careers in plant science are strongly encouraged to apply. US residency is not a requirement. But these have not be ordinary times. Due to the pandemic and its related effects and to protect the safety and health of our members and community, the ASPB Board of Directors decided to move to a fully virtual meeting for 2021, just as we did in 2020. The event will take place from July 19-23, 2021. Since physical travel will not be necessary, ASPB has reframed this award as a conference attendance award.

Despite the virtual conference, we had a large number of applications for this program, and we thank you all for your interest. And we heartily congratulate the 2021 awardees, who came through a tough competition for support. They are:
