NAS and Office of Science offer Support for Ukrainian Scientists

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has led to a refugee crisis in Europe, and many scientists and researchers are among the millions of Ukrainians who have fled their country. To assist these researchers in continuing their work in safety, the U.S. National Academy of Sciences (NAS) has launched the Safe Passage Fund to support the Polish Academy of Sciences as it helps fleeing Ukrainian scholars and their families relocate in Poland and neighboring countries.

The DOE’s Office of Science (SC) has similarly announced available supplements to supporting hosting a student or scientist impacted by the war. The supplements are an effort to “protect the well-being and livelihood of students and scientists impacted by the war by maintaining strong connections to the worldwide scientific community.”
