Thank you for attending Plant Biology 2018! Here’s your guide for Wednesday and Thursday and as always, when in doubt, you can check the schedule and the conference app, or stop by Registration and ask one of our friendly volunteers. There’s even more information on the Plant Biology 2018 network on Plantae, including a bit of tourist information in the “Sights and Sounds of Montreal” post. Also, if you haven’t already (it’s not too late!), please check out our code of conduct and social media policy— and hashtag #plantbio18 if you are using Twitter.
On Wednesday morning, grab some coffee and head to Major Symposium V: Mechanisms of Genome Evolution (9:00–11:30 AM). Buckle up for some of the newest insights about the ‘big picture’ of genome evolution.
The conference may officially close at 11:30 AM, on Wednesday, but wait! There’s more! Continue the plant awesomeness at Photosynthesis from Light to Life, The International Society of Photosynthesis Research (ISPR) meeting, July 17–20, 2018, at Palais des congrès de Montréal!
You can also check out a demonstration of the PhotosynQ Platform from 12:15–1:15 PM at the Westin Hotel (pre-registration required). PhotosynQ combines low-cost handheld photosynthesis sensing technology with a state of the art data platform to provide a new means for large-scale photosynthesis data collection and collaboration.
Take the afternoon to see the sights / catch up on emails, but those who have signed up for the Bioinformatics Workshop all day Thursday (8:30 AM–3:30 PM) will want to get plenty of rest to make the most out of this opportunity. It will be a hands-on workshop dedicated to genomic data analysis using Data Carpentry best practices.
For those of you leaving Montréal, safe travels– and for those of you staying, thank you (and merci beaucoup) for sharing your beautiful city with us!
