Plant Biology 2018 Speaker Spotlight Series – Yannick Jacob

Today’s speaker is Yannick Jacob Assistant Professor of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at Yale University. Dr. Jacob will be presenting a talk “Increased efficiency of targeted mutagenesis by CRISPR/Cas9 in plants using heat stress” during concurrent session 28 on Tuesday at 10:45am.

1) What are you most excited about during PlantBio18?

Having the chance to meet other plant biologists and discuss science, especially in the field of plant genome engineering.

2) Why should colleagues attend your concurrent session?

We will highlights our work on optimizing CRISPR/Cas9 for use in plants. This should be useful to all researchers currently performing targeted mutagenesis experiments in plants, or planning to do so in the future.

3) Can you provide a teaser (no data, big picture) for your talk, a brief description that explains why colleagues should attend your talk?

Temperature can be used to modulate CRISPR/Cas9 activity in plants.

Be sure to catch Dr. Jacob’s talk on Tuesday at 11:48am in CS-28!
